Bonnie Huset, Director & Teacher
Bonnie Huset, our director and preschool teacher for 3 and 4-year olds, has held this position since the opening of The Good Shepherd's Little Lambs Preschool in 2005. Before this, she was a stay-at-home mom for nine years, while their children were young. During one of those years, Bonnie held a preschool class in her home for her oldest child and some close friends. Before becoming a mother, Bonnie worked at a preschool for 4 years in Renton, WA. During this time, she completed her early childhood education degree from Highline College. Previous to this she worked as a youth director for over 3.5 years at her church in Renton – the same congregation with the preschool. Bonnie also has a bachelor's degree in business from Concordia University Wisconsin.
Bonnie enjoys volleyball as a hobby and likes the assistant coaching position at Concordia Christian Academy's high school. She also assists with 5th-6th-grade basketball for the fun of it. Her other interests include reading and her family. Bonnie and her husband have been married for more than 27 years and have 3 children.

Emily Arvizo, Assitant
Hi! My name is Emily Arvizu. I am currently a volunteer in the classroom. For the previous 4 years, I have worked as a first-grade teacher in the Federal Way Public School District. I received my Bachelors of Psychology and Education as well as my Masters of K-8 Education with an endorsement in SPED from the University of Washington Tacoma. I also grew up in the Good Shepherd church and had my wedding here! I am excited for all the growth and fun the students will experience this year!

Vicar Joel Schuldheisz
Joel has been blessed with the opportunity to serve as a teacher/professor, coach, and administrator at elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels. He has a Ph.D. in Sport Pedagogy from Oregon State University and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Minnesota. Vicar Joel is enrolled in the Specific Ministry Program at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO, where he is taking online classes and being mentored by Pastor Keith Eilers to become a pastor. Joel and Mary have been married for over 42 years and have two adult children and two grandchildren living in the South Puget Sound area. Joel enjoys bicycling, swimming, and gardening.
Ruth Gerkin, Board Chair
Hello, I'm Ruth Gerkin! I've served on the preschool board when Little Lambs Preschool began in 2005 until my husband, Pastor Dan, retired for Good Shepherd in 2017. I have supported the preschool and staff through prayer and subbing when needed. Now I am called to serve as a chairperson once again and I happily accepted!
